DOCEMUS and Emergency collaboration at Bangui, Central African Republic.
The aim of the mission, accomplished in the months of June and July 2014, was to make the Bangui National Blood Bank fully operative. The Blood Bank had not been working since the beginning of 2014 because of the great instability of the Country. The project, carried out in collaboration with WHO and Emergency included also the support to the Clinical Laboratory of the Emergency Pediatric Clinic in Bangui.
DOCEMUS organized the blood collection in the local villages, trained the local personnel to the correct procedures to manage the blood units, to control the blood provisions and to monitor the equipment.
