Sierra Leone – The analytical laboratory of the Emergency centre
In April 2012 Docemus has carried out a mission at the Emergency surgical centre in Goderich, a small town in the outskirts of Freetown.
The goal of the mission at the Surgical Center was the local technicians’ training:
- in the use and maintenance (both planned and reactive) of the Medonich (Menarini firm) machine for the blood count bought by Emergency;
- in the use of a double boiler working at 37°C (piece of equipment which is fundamental to carry out the crossmatch) and of an automatic self-stabilizing for sacks including a bloodletting scale offered by Docemus.
Special care and attention were dedicated to the one-to-one training of each and every single member of the local personnel and to the testing of their correct learning.
